Reordering your courses and Customizing your homepage in Moodle

Posted January 22nd, 2015 at 3:04 pm.

Have too many courses and only need to regularly access a few? Have older courses that you no longer need but not an administrator of? This new version of Moodle now has a way for everyone to customize their homepage and decide which courses appear on the home page, in whatever order they wish.

Near the top right corner of the Moodle homepage (one you are logged in), you will see a button that says “Customise this page” (Moodle is in British English). Click on this, and then click on the drop-down menu that says “Sort order” and change it to “Always Show All“. This will show you all of the courses you are enrolled in, and you can move up any¬†courses and change the order by clicking on the four-directional arrow icon to the left of each course title and dragging it up/down as you wish.

Alternatively, you can choose to only show a few courses by selecting a number from the¬†“Number of courses to display” drop-down menu. Please note that this will change immediately, so make sure the ones you want are at the top so that they are not immediately hidden.

You can change these settings at any time, so don’t be afraid to play around and find a setting that works best for you!
