New Features/Changes in Moodle

The latest update in Moodle was a fairly minor one, but some great new features/changes were added:

1) The text editor has been updated and improved. Now, there is a cleaner interface, with the most commonly used icons visible and the other icons in the “Toolbar toggle” icon on the far left. The icons that have moved include: the HTML editor, font size, font type, copy from Word, and many more, so be sure to check it out the next time you are working in Moodle!

2) The “Edit Settings” gear icon has moved to be a drop-down menu on the far right of each activity, resource, and block. In this drop-down menu, you will find the options for edit settings, indent (now called “move right”), hide/unhide, duplicate, and delete. Please note that the gear icon is still used for editing the Topic headers.

3) The “Game” module is back! Now you can use the glossary terms and quiz questions from your courses to create interactive games for your students. This is particularly useful for helping students review vocabulary terms for foreign languages or important dates and historical events. You can find the games under “Add an activity or resource” in any of your Moodle sites.

Bonus:  Moodle theme now reflects Bryn Mawr’s Visual Identity color scheme!
