Phone System: Customizing Your Call Flow (Forwarding, Automated Call Routing)

Posted June 1st, 2018 at 5:38 pm.

Use your “Status” in the Bryn Mawr College phone system to communicate your availability to coworkers and to determine what happens to your phone calls when you’re on the phone, out of the office, etc. Set your Status using MiCollab desktop, mobile, or web app.

Use this for:

  • Call Forwarding
  • Sending all calls to voicemail (you can also use the DND button on your phone)
  • Sending calls to voicemail or someone else automatically based on whether you’re on the phone or do not answer
  • Sending calls to the Softphone automatically if you’re away from your desk and wish to make and receive calls from your computer or mobile device

Setting Your Status

  1. Open the MiCollab desktop, mobile, or web app
  2. Click on your initials in the upper right (or in the right navigation panel in the mobile app)
  3. Select a Status from the dropdown menu

Changing Your Call Flow

  1. From the Settings menu or the dropdown menu where you selected your Status, click or tap “Manage Status”
  2. Choose the Status you would like to edit

From this window you can edit the parameters of the Status to rename it, send all calls to voicemail or someone else, determine what happens when you’re on the phone or if you do not answer, Enable Do not Disturb, and more.

  1. Click or tap “Done”

Creating a Custom Status

In addition to the built-in Statuses, you can also create custom Statuses to suit your specific needs. Follow the steps below to create your custom status.

  1. From the Settings menu or the dropdown menu where you selected your Status, click or tap “Manage Status”
  2. Click or tap the three dots in the upper right corner
  3. Click or tap “New”
  4. Enter the Name of your status (this is what your coworkers will see as your status)
  5. Edit the parameters of your custom Status to determine its call flow
  6. Click or tap “Done”

Note: If you are using MiCollab on mobile, please press the tabs on the left and right of your screen to access your navigation panels.
