WeVideo: Creating a New Project

  1. Log in to your WeVideo account and click on the Projects tab.
  2. Click on the blue-and-white “+” icon in the bottom right and choose Create new project.
  3. Give your project a Title and a short Description.
  4. Choose a Project type. Project types determine who can edit your project:
    • Personal — Only you can edit the video.
    • Collaborative — Multiple people can share media and collaboratively edit the same video.
    • Shared — Multiple people can share media, but each creates and edits their own video.
  5. Click Next.
  6. If you chose a Collaborative or Shared project, you will be prompted to add members to the project using one of following options. Otherwise skip to step 7,
    • Add all members — Adds everyone with a BMC WeVideo account to the project. Don’t do this!!
    • Select members/groups — Choose people to add from a list of existing BMC account holders.
    • Invite with link — Gives you a web link to send people whom you want to add to the project. This option is useful if some of your group members do not yet have WeVideo accounts; they will be prompted to create an account when they click on the link.
  7. You will be prompted to Add Media from a list of existing clips; you can do this later from the Media tab so feel free to click Next to skip this step.
  8. Click Finish.

If you chose Invite with Link as the method for adding collaborators, copy the link provided and email it to the people you wish to invite. (You can access this link again later by selecting the project in the Projects tab.)
