Any Bryn Mawr College community member who has created a Microsoft.com account using a @brynmawr.edu email address must change their sign-in email to prevent problems once the College migrates to Office 365 for email and calendar in late May 2016.
Log in to your Microsoft account using your Bryn Mawr email address: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/account/
Click on Manage my account, then go to “Your Info” and “Manage your sign-in email or phone number”
Verify your identity (Microsoft will send a security code to your Bryn Mawr account). Once received, copy and paste the code into the security code field and continue.
Click “Add email” under Account alias.
Add a non-Bryn Mawr email address as a Microsoft account alias. After adding the new alias, you’ll need to verify the account. You will receive an email at that address asking you to confirm the address for the Microsoft account. Alternatively, you can verify the account by clicking “Verify”.
After verifying the new account, make it the primary alias by clicking “Make primary”. Confirm by clicking “Yes”.
Remove the Bryn Mawr account alias by clicking “Remove”. Confirm by clicking “Yes”.
Your Microsoft account should now be linked to a non-Bryn Mawr account. Almost done!
After updating your Microsoft account’s primary alias to be a non-Bryn Mawr email address, you’ll also need to update your Microsoft security information.
Log in to your MS Account and click on “Security & Privacy”
Click “More security settings”.
Click “Add security info”.
Add either a phone number or non-Bryn Mawr email address.
You’ll be sent a security code to your phone or email address to verify the change. Enter the security code to complete the process.
Click “Remove” to remove the Bryn Mawr account.
Your security info is now updated! Done!
